Built to replace existing Yukon Housing Corporation apartments, this four-storey wood frame building features 34 new, independent living suites designed for aging in place seniors. The accessibility of each space is critical, and four suites accommodate an even higher level of mobility assistance. It also includes large common spaces on three levels, with a small outdoor deck on the fourth level. Each suite also includes private balconies. Utilizing a very small site, the building’s design includes setbacks in the facade and roof creating a warm, non-institutional aesthetic.

As the second project of its kind undertaken by Northern Front Studio, the firm continues to earn its reputation as a leader in the field of northern retirement living.
