Shipping Container Tiny House

Location: Whitehorse, YT
Year: 2013
Gross Area: 320 sf
Role: Architect & Builder
Client: Mary Ellen Read

This project transformed a shipping container into a livable tiny home. The small surface area of the home necessitated an efficient use of space and efficient flow between spaces. Connections to outside are created through large windows. This helps enlarge interior spaces without adding interior square footage.

The custom exterior siding was finished with a Japanese wood burning technique: sho-sugi-ban, leaving the charcoal yellow cedar exposed.
